Oral Suspension

Albendazole 25 mg/ml.

A total spectrum multi-purpose anthelmintic for control of the following types of internal parasites in sheep, goats and cattle:

Gastro-intestinal roundworms: Bunostomum, Chabertia, Cooperia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus, Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia, Strongyloides and Trichostrongylus spp.

Lungworms: Dictyocaulus viviparus and D. filaria.

Tapeworms: Monieszia expansa.

Adult liver-flukes: Fasciola hepatica.

In ruminants albendazole suspension is slowly and almost completely absorbed from the rumen, whereupon it is rapidly metabolised by the first pass in the liver mainly to albendazole sulphoxide subsequent to albendazole sulphone and other metabolites. In ruminants it is predominantly excreted in the urine. Billiary elimination accounts for about 15% in sheep. Most of the excreted metabolites are unconjugated.

ANIZOLE 25 is indicated in the treatment of mature and immature roundworms and lungworms, including inhibited Type II Ostertagiasis in cattle, and flukes. It also removes both heads and segments of roundworms.

Do not exceed the recommended dose in females during early pregnancy.

ANIZOLE 25 is a pale green free flowing suspension for administration as an oral drench, suitable for use with most types of automatic drenching equipment.

Worm dose: Approximately 5 mg albendazole per kg bodyweight. Up to 15kg: 2.5 ml/ 10 kg bodyweight. Above 15 kg: 2 ml/ 10 kg bodyweight.

By research and experiences in the field it was shown that albendazole is a very safe drug. No side effects are likely to be expected at recommended doses.

Anizole 25 is not recommended for the treatment of acute fascioliasis in sheep. During tupping do not dose ewes at the fluke and worm dose rate, or for 1 month after removing rams.

With cattle, do not exceed the fluke and worm dose during the first month of pregnancy.

Cattle suffering from severe lung damage due to heavy lungworm infection may continue to cough for some weeks after the treatment.
